News from the Feral camp….

Following on from the release of his brilliant debut album Brittle as Bones, Setec recently contributed an exclusive piece as part of Ears Have Ears’ ongoing soundtrack series. The long-form ambient piece entitled Jersey Street finds Setec exploring similar terrain as found on his debut EP Longer Letters. The piece was also accompanied by the wonderful artwork pictured above by local artist Leah Jean. Listen to Jersey Street here or via the player below.

In other Feral news the wonderful Mess + Noise have published a track by track breakdown of AFXJIM’s new album Distant detailing the recording process, influences and background of each track. Read the article here.

AFXJIM also recently discussed some of his favourite and most influential albums as part of Cyclic Defrost’s Cyclic Selects. The diverse selection spans from Cold Chisel and Nick Cave, to Manitoba (Caribou) and Tortoise. Check out the full selection here.

Lortica releases Mialle Tapes

We are proud to present Mialle Tapes, the debut full-length from Sydney artist Lortica aka Alister Hill.
Alister creates murky and immersive soundscapes by sampling and re-sampling found cassettes and processing them through his array of pedals and vintage cassette recorders.

The result is a challenging collection that is part euphoric sedation, part claustrophobic nightmare that burrows into your subconscious with its layers of buried melodies and decaying textures.

Fans of William Basinski, the Caretaker and Grouper take note! Lortica is a new name to add to this esteemed list of compelling artists.

Mialle Tapes is available digitally via the Feral bandcamp store here and will be released as a limited-edition cassette via Danish label Phinery later this month.
