Mieli is the ambient electronic project of Brisbane artist Ryan Gobbe. The music of Mieli is derived purely from digital media, featuring a combination of traditional synthesis mixed with clicks and cuts to create minimal yet immersive rhythms. Texturally, the music is varied, with both sparse ambient-type songs, and other more complex and gradual musical layering.
Drawing influence from artists such as Valdislav Delay, Kraftwerk, Andreas Tillander and Joy Division; Mieli’s debut album Version was released in 2004 to critical acclaim.
In addition to his work under the Mieli moniker, Ryan has also released music as Two Tone and as one half of the duo Fo_Tran.
